Title

Bradshaw, Mary Ann Ada (nee Holder) and Edward 'Ted' Bradshaw

Description

This photo was taken at Holbrook, NSW. Mary and Ted were married at Holbrook in 1941. Mary was almost 52 years old. Mary met Ted Bradshaw while working as the cook for the main homestead at ˜Coppabella Station' near Jinjellic. Ted worked there as a station hand. Ted Bradshaw was born in England. Both of Mary's sons, Bill and Dan were serving in the army at the time of their mothers second marriage, Bill the eldest son said his mother wrote to him to ask for his permission to remarry.
Mary and Ted moved back to Morven where Mary had taken up the position as the cook, and Ted as a station hand at ˜Carabobala Station'. This lovely old station is about four miles out of Morven. While working there they lived in a small cottage on the property, which was situated on the bank of the Billabong creek. A few years on and Mary and Ted have moved back into Mary’s home at Morven. It was while they were living there that tragically, Ted Bradshaw died on the family property about 1958. Ted is buried in the Culcairn cemetery. Mary remained living in her home at Morven until in her later years when she moved into her son and daughter in law's (Bill and Val Babington) home in Henty Street, Culcairn. Mary died in the Culcairn Hospital aged 87 years on 28th June 1977. She is buried in the Culcairn cemetery.
