Cause: Accidentally shot himself Note: INQUESTS INQUESTS At Clifton, near Picton, on the 7th instant, touching the death of Edward Rudd, aged 15, son of Mr. E. Rudd, of Campbelltown, who was accidentally shot through the ribs. The unfortunate youth was travelling with some teams. The drivers appear to have been absent seeking whipsticks, and he amusing himself with the gun is supposed to have touched the hammer in getting off a fence. Some men, working near, heard the report, and saw him stagger. He died in a few minutes. Empire (Sydney, NSW : 1850 - 1875) Tuesday 15 May 1860 p 5 Article |
