One hundred and sixty-three wreathe were placed on the coffin of Mr. Henry Christopher Angel, aged 23 years, who died last month under very tragic circumstances while driving his motorcar near Goulburn.

The vehicle overturned and Mr. Angel and a boy companion, Leo Northcote, were burned to death, while three other occupants were severely injured.

Mr. Angel was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Angel, of Cooma, a nephew of Mr. Samuel Angel, of Wagga, and a grandson of Mr. Henry Angel who accompanied the historic Hume Hovell expedition which crossed the Murray near where Albury now stands.

The young man was very well known and popular in Cooma where he had spent all his life.

His sisters Doris and Maisie had predeceased him on June 9 1934, and April 5, 1935, respectively, and the tragic circumstances of this third loss in a family of five children in l8 months brought forth the sincere sympathy of the residents of the whole town and district for the surviving parents and the two brothers, Ronald and Bertie.

Following a service at St. Paul's Church of England, Cooma, conducted by the Rev H C Russell the burial took place in the Mittagong cemetery. There was a huge gathering at the graveside where Mr Russell officiated.

The pall bearers were Messrs. Ronald and Bertie Angel, H. Jamieson A. Love, A. Schofield and C. Jeffries.

Beside the many personal floral tributes, there were wreathe from the Cooma Music Club, Railway Refreshment rooms staff Permewan Wright Ltd. staff Gordon Fawcett's Dance Band, and Balmain Bros.. Ltd and Staff
