Note: FUNERAL OF MRS HANNAM. FUNERAL OF MRS HANNAM. The funeral of Elizabeth Hannam, wife of Mr. Reuben Hannam, of Gregadoo road, took place yesterday at the Wagga Cemetery. Deceased, who was 70 years of age, was an old resident of this district, and leaves a large grown-up family. A tribute of respect was paid the family in the large attendence of town and country folk at the funeral. Rev. A. Mosley. Rector of St. John's, was the officiating clergy man. The pallbearers were Messrs. J. T. Holder, J. Rudd, W. C. Haridan, and E. J. Shadbolt. Mr. J. M'lntsh carried out tlhe funeral arrangements. The death occurred on Tuesday morning of Mr. James Brooker, aged Wagga Wagga Advertiser (NSW : 1875 - 1910) Thursday 19 September 1907 p 2 Article ANOTHER DEATH FROM PNEUMONIA. There has been quite an epidemic of pneumonia in this district of late, and several deaths from that complaint have been recorded. The latest is that of James Brooker, an old resident of these parts, who passed away at his residence, Gregadoo, on Tuesday last, after a brief illness. The cause of death was pneumonia, from which the old man, who was 72 years of age, had only been suffering for a brief period. A wife and grown-up family survive him. The funeral was largely attended on Wednesday afternoon, the interment taking place in the Anglican portion of the Wagga cemetery. The Rev. G. A. Carver administered the last sad rites of the Church of England at the graveside. Four grandsons of the deceased acted as pall-bearers. BROOKER The death occurred in the Wagga District Hospital of Mr. Joseph Henry Brooker, a well known and respected resident of Lake Albert, at the age of 88 years. He was born at Campbelltown, and was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Brooker, of Lake Albert. He was a bachelor, and was with the Brunskill family at "Thackwood," Lake Albert, who took a kindly interest in his welfare, for the last 48 years. He is survived by one brother, a twin, Mr. Edward Brooker. Three brothers pre-deceased him, William, of Albury, John, of Wagga, and James, of Lake Albert, also the following sisters, Mesdames Byrnes, E. Rudd, R. Hannam, Samuel Larkins, and Leonard. Mesdames J. T. Baker, senr., Darlow street, Wagga, and A. Rodgers, Adelong, Misses Alice and Ada Brooker, Gregadoo, and Mesdames S. Stephen, E. Phillips and Harry Holder are nieces and Messrs. Alfred and John Brooker, of Lake Albert, John and Reuben Hannam, of Lake Albert, and Arthur Albert Brooker and William Brooker, of Wagga, are nephews. The funeral will leave the Wagga District Hospital this afternoon at 3 o'clock for the family enclosure in the Church of England portion of the Wagga cemetery.
