Note: Newspaper article Newspaper article OBITUARY MRS. C. H. AMEY The death of Mrs. Clara Josephine Amey, wife of Mr. C. H. Amey, of Bena Road, Girra, removes an old and highly-esteemed resident of West Wyalong and district. Mrs. Amey had been ill for about a fortnight prior to her death, when she suffered a paralytic stroke, and was admitted to the Wyalong District Hospital. The late Mrs. Amey was born at Hay 49 years ago. She came to West Wyalong with her parents, Mr. H. R. Blunden and the late Mrs. Blunden, when a child, and practically the whole of her life was spent at West Wyalong and in the district. She was married to Mr. Amey in 1912, and has lived on their property on the Bena Road ever since. Many friends and acquaintances pay tribute to her kindly and charitable nature and her good neighborly qualities, and express regret at the passing of this estimable citizen. There was a representative attendance at the funeral on Monday afternoon, the remains being interred in the Church of England portion of the Wyalong cemetery. The Rev. H. C. Barratt officiated at the graveside, and the mortuary arrangements were in hands of Messrs R. and G. Stephenson. Deceased is survived by her husband and family of five sons and three daughters and her father, Mr. H. Blunden, of Goolagong, five sisters, Mrs. James Parker, West Wyalong, Mrs. F. Wilesmith, Ariah Park, Mrs. K. Perry, Bankstown, Mrs. J. Green, Hillston, Mrs. O. Peasley, Goolagong, and one brother, Mr. Thomas Blunden, Hillston. Note: Newspaper article Newspaper article SAD FATALITY - FARMER FOUND DEAD Shortly After Death of Wife Ten days after the recent death of his wife Mr. Charles Henry Amey was found dead in one of the paddocks of his property late last Week. It is stated that he was riding to his home on a cycle when he apparently sustained a seizure of the heart from which he failed to recover. The deceased gentleman who was about 84 years of age had resided on his property on the Bena road, Girral, for nearly half a century. He was married three times and is survived by a large grown up family. The deceased was last married to Clara Josephine Blunden, formerly of West Wyalong, in 1912, the cause of Mrs. Amey's death being a para lytic stroke, which she sustained about a fortnight prior to her death The late Mr. Amey was a highly esteemed settler of the pioneering class, consequently he was of a re tiring nature and did not take a very active part in public affairs, but he was regarded as an efficient farmer who had played his part in the advancement of the district. In his long desidence in the district he saw many important changes take place and could relate many interseting incidents of the development of the Ungarie and Bena districts. The news of his sudden death caused a great shock to his many friends throughout the district, who had only recently sympathised with him on the loss of his wife. Note: Newspaper Article Newspaper Article OBITUARY - HENRY RAYNOR BLUNDEN. One of the oldest residents of the Hillston district passed peacefully away at the local hospital on Sunday last, in the person of Mr. Henry Raynor Blunden. Deceased, who was born at Bendigo, had reached the age of 83 years, and was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thos. R. Blunden, of Bendigo. He first came to Hillston when only a lad, and for several years was a driver for Cobb & Co., on the Carrathool-Booligal-Gunbar runs. He was also one of the early mailmen, being engaged in conveying mails per pack-horse in the infancy of the district. He was married at Hillston, when 22, to Miss Emma Ray, of Hay, and seven sons and one daughter were born of the union. His widow predeceased him some time ago. His son, Mr. Thos. Blunden and one daughter, Mrs. J. Green, still reside in Hillston. Two brothers, Messrs. Fred and Ted. Blunden, also survive, and a large number of grandchildren and great grand children. Of late years he had led a retired life, and spent a good deal of time in the Cooragong district. The last months of his life were spent with his daughter, Mrs. J. Green, and it was from her home that he entered hospital on Friday last. The funeral took place on Monday afternoon in the Church of England portion of the Hillston cemetery, Rev. C.
